What You Need to Know:

 
As you may have already heard, on October 1, 2025, First Community Bank of East Tennessee became a part of the TruPoint Bank family. Like First Community Bank of East Tennessee, TruPoint Bank has a community banking tradition that sets us apart from other financial institutions.  We are excited for you to experience what makes TruPoint Bank your Single Point For Banking!  
 

Our priority throughout this transition is you – our customer.  Below are a few things to know right now!

 

IMPORTANT: On December 5, 2025, systems will fully integrate to TruPoint Bank. Online Banking will be unavailable from Friday, December 5th at 5:00 PM through the morning of Monday, December 8th. Bill Pay will also be unavailable during this time. 

You may begin using the TruPoint Bank online banking and mobile app beginning December 8, 2025.

Mobile app users will need to download the TruPoint Bank mobile app from the Google Play or App Store on or after December 8, 2025, to access your online banking. The First Community Bank of East Tennessee mobile app will no longer work after this date. 
 
Login Details:
 
You will use the username and password you currently use, to sign into the TruPoint Bank online banking and mobile app. To ensure a smooth transition to your new app, please ensure you know your login credentials prior to December 8th. 
 
Once you've signed in, a verification code will be sent as a text message to the mobile phone number you input at that time. You'll then be prompted to enter the verification code sent to you. 
 
After entering your verification code, you'll be prompted to follow the instructions on the screen to enable 2- step verification as an added layer of security to your account. 
 
Next, you'll be prompted to create a 4-digit passcode for added convenience. This will make future logins simple and secure.
 
Once this is complete, you're ready to begin using your new TruPoint Bank Online Banking and Mobile App!

Bill Pay will be unavailable from Friday, December 5th at 5:00 PM through the morning of Monday, December 8th

Beginning December 5, 2025, the iTalk telephone banking system will be unavailable. You may begin using TruPoint Bank's 24 hour Telebanker system after December 8, 2025, by calling 888-419-4222.

When will the name change occur?
 
The full name change will happen after the systems are fully integrated on December 8, 2025.


Will my local office close?
 
No. All offices will remain open.


Can I go to any TruPoint location for my banking needs?
 
Yes. Beginning December 8, 2025, you’ll have access to all TruPoint Bank locations across Virginia, Tennessee and North Carolina.


Can I use a TruPoint ATM without paying a fee?
 
Yes. After our systems are fully integrated on December 8, 2025, you’ll be able to use any TruPoint Bank ATM without paying a fee. 

 What will this change mean for my banking relationship?
 
You’ll continue working with the same local team who’s been here for you. This change brings the added strength and resources of TruPoint Bank, while keeping the same personal service you’ve come to expect. 
 When will my new debit card and pin be mailed out?
 
Your new debit card and pin will be mailed out on November 17, 2025. Your pin will be mailed separately.


How do I activate my new debit card?
 
Instructions on how to activate your new card will be included with your new debit card. You can begin using your new TruPoint debit card on December 8, 2025. 


How should I discard my old First Community Bank debit card?
 
After December 8, 2025, you should shred or cut up your old First Community Bank card. Your First Community Bank card will automatically be disabled on this date.

Your routing number and account number will remain the same.  You can continue using the checks you already have until they run out.  If there are any changes in the future, we will give you advance notice.
